The Taskforce for Community Collaboration was re-convened by the Arthur Ashe Institute of Urban Health in 2009 to facilitate dialogue with SUNY Downstate's five colleges and coordinate more robust campus community partnerships to seek joint funding to support community engaged research, coordinate more meaningful service placements for the colleges' students and broader career exposure for Health Science Academy participants.
