Brooklyn Health Disparities Center

The Brooklyn Health Disparities Center's mission is to develop models that reduce disparities from cardiovascular disease in minorities and new immigrant populations in Brooklyn.  The three partners, Downstate Medical Center, the Arthur Ashe Institute for Urban Health, and the Brooklyn Borough President's Office collaborate on clinical and community research, outreach, training and education, and medical fellowship training

The partners' shared vision is to
become a nationally recognized leader in eliminating health disparities  through the development of community partnerships to conduct research, develop interventions, provide training, inform policy decisions, and exchange information that will increase all partners' capacity to reduce existing health disparities.
