ABOUT DR. LENA L. GREEN
Dr. Lena L. Green is the executive director of the HOPE Center, a community-based mental health clinic in Harlem, NYC, connected to First Corinthian Baptist Church (FCBC). She is an associate protessor and project manager in Population Health Science & Policy at Mount Sinai's Icahn School of Medicine and a clinical professor at NYU and Columbia University. With over 20 years of experience as a clinician, professor, and administrator, Dr. Green integrates faith-based mental health services and addresses treatment disparities in racial and ethnic populations. Her expertise includes trauma-informed practices, fatherhood research, and interdisciplinary approaches for new and expectant parents.
Dr. Green has received numerous honors, including the 2024 New York State Senate Women of Distinction Award and the 2023 Joseph R. Biden Presidential Service and Lifetime Achievement Award.
She has been featured on outlets like Pix11 News and CBS News, advocating for mental health in Black and minority communities. A graduate of NYU with a doctorate in social work, she also holds a BA in psychology from the University of Massachusetts and advanced clinical certificates from Hunter College and NYU. Dr. Green serves on several boards, including the American Psychiatric Association's Mental Health Services Committee.
